  • Intervention- $600
Jan Scott requested funds to cover the cost of lunches and snacks for Safe School Ambassadors training and meetings throughout the year. The SSA program is an evidence-based, student-centered approach that empowers student leaders from the diverse groups on campus and equips them with non-violent communication and intervention skills to stop bullying, harassment, and violence among their peers. The program requires a 7:1 student-to-teacher ratio for certification and FHS has eight sections of AVID. The district provides one tutor. We have not met the ratio in the past but still maintain “highly qualified” site status. They have used seniors as peer tutors to make up for the deficit. An old allocation for $15,000 intended to cover an AVID tutor in 2021-22 has been closed and the funds have been released back to the allocation pool since it was not used. Additionally, Michelle England has agreed to apply for a TPSF grant request for $3000 to offset the two tutors.

The current area is an outdoor facility which is at the mercy of the weather and degrades the equipment. This building will also need a $10,000 floor installed which will be paid for with funds from the athletic department and PE budget. The plan is that more students (including those in PE classes) will be able to use gym equipment. Stats Medic would allow students to focus their exam review on specific topics they need help with, not solely what the teacher choses to review.
